INTRODUCTION

SHAHEED FAZIL RAHU FOUNDATION is established in memory and admittance of services of Great Democrat & Revolutionary leader- Shaheed Fazil Rahu, assassinated by dictator Gen Zia-ul-Haq regime on 01-17-1987, in Golarchi town of Dist. Badin. The town was named “Shaheed Fazil Rahu” in 1992.

Shaheed Fazil Rahu played leading role in historic MRD (movement for restoration of democracy) movement of 1983 & 1986. He struggled for Democracy, Social justice, Equal Rights for Nationalities, Rights of People and Civil Liberties and led mass movements to achieve his goals and objectives. From Dictator Gen Ayub to Gen Zia, including Gen Yahya and Z.A Bhutto Regimes every government put him behind bars. In his uncompromised and relentless struggle for democracy and Rights of People he spent 13 years of his life in various jails of Sindh & Baluchistan.

Shaheed Fazil Rahu was a Symbol of Social Service to the Poor & Marginalized people of the society. He was Determined for Better Tomorrow of the People of Country and Sacrificed last drop of his Red Blood for Democracy and social Change.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

SHAHEED FAZIL RAHU FOUNDATION (SFRF) aims to,

 Mobilize rural and urban communities for development and improving their socio-economic and cultural status with focus on livelihood issues including health, education and environment etc.

 Promote democracy, peace, and Justice and securing civil rights by mass education & mobilization.

 Empowering women through involving them in development process and economic self-relying activities also enhancing capacities of rural male female for working efficiently to village development.

 Developing youth through mobilizing and training to make them constructive for peaceful society.

 Protect rights of children and women.

Support and rehabilitation of community in conditions of calamity and natural disasters.

SFRF aims to achieve its goals by research, advocacy and lobbying for social problems local and regional level with stake holders and broader civil society through social activism and mass education programs.

SFRF is determined to serve and support single individual in trouble to share collective problems of society. A POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE is motto and theme of, SHAHEED FAZIL RAHU FOUNDATION.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

Currently SHAHEED FAZIL RAHU FOUNDATION is engaged in its “Flood Relief and Rehabilitation Campaign 2010”. In this regard,

1, A Flood Relief Camp is established in Badin Town to collect Flood Relief Material.

2, Volunteers of SFRF collected Food items, Clothes & other flood relief material worth thousands of rupees from West Point Tower Karachi and handed it over to KTN Flood Relief Camp.

3, SFRF is engaged in providing Medical Aid Assistance to Flood Victims in collaboration with JPMC & DUMHS based “Doctors and Medical Students “Flood Relief Campaign” (DSFRC).

SFRF provided DSFRC vehicle for Flood Relief Activities in Jhirk, Sujawal, Mirpur Bathoro and Darro areas of Dist. Thatta and for different areas of Dist. Dadu. SFRF also provided male & female volunteers to DSFRC for their Fund Raising Campaign.

4, SFRF is in contact with PMA & other Civil Society Network for Relief and Rehabilitation of Flood Victims.
